Week Thirty-Four: Joy Through Trials

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” — James 1:2-3

James tells believers to count it all joy when trials come, knowing that testing produces perseverance. He does not say trials are enjoyable, but that they are purposeful. God uses difficulties as tools to shape maturity, endurance, and deeper faith.

We naturally ask for immediate escape, but God desires lasting growth. Trials expose our weaknesses, deepen our prayer, loosen our grip on the world, and teach us to rely on Him. 

When hardship comes, ask not “How do I get out?” but “Lord, what are You producing in me through it?” Joy grows when we recognize that pain in God’s hands is never wasted!
