Week Twelve: Biblical Meditation

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. — Joshua 1:8

God’s instruction to Joshua links success not to strategy or strength, but to steady attention to His Word. Scripture is not meant to be an occasional reference—it is meant to shape our thinking, our speech, and our daily decisions.

Meditating “day and night” doesn’t mean constant reading, but continual thinking. God’s Word stays close to our mouths and hearts so He can guide our steps when choices are made and pressures rise. Obedience flows from attention to His ever-present voice and mind expressed in His Word..

The prosperity God promises here is not merely material gain, but a life ordered by His wisdom. True success is walking in harmony with God’s purposes. When His Word directs our way, we discover that His path leads not only to faithfulness—but to lasting fruit.
