Week Five: Higher than Ours

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts. — Isaiah 55:8-9

Oftentimes, the way we view our circumstances misses the greater purpose the Lord has in mind! We may go through a hard time, endure strife, and be unsettled in some very grievous trial, but the Lord is working out something far greater than we could imagine!

It’s like when a famished Jacob, bereft of his son and facing another son being taken, exclaims in bitterness, “All these things are against me!” Yet he did not know he would soon be reunited with his long lost and thought dead son. God has a great purpose in mind for His children, and in all things, He is conforming us to the image of His Son as we walk with Him.
