Week Eight: No Condemnation

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. — Romans 8:1

This verse announces one of the greatest freedoms of the gospel: in Christ, condemnation is gone. For those who belong to Jesus, the verdict has already been rendered—not guilty. This does not mean we are perfect or free from struggle, but that our standing before God is no longer based on our performance, failures, or past sins.

Paul reminds us that new life in Christ changes the direction of our walk. We no longer live under the rule of the flesh, driven by guilt and self-effort, but under the leading of the Spirit, empowered by grace. When accusations rise—whether from our own hearts or the enemy—we can rest in this truth: there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ. Now, we are free to walk forward in obedience, not out of fear, but out of gratitude for the mercy we have received.
