Once upon a time, parents would lay down their lives to raise children who would lay down their lives for their families, communities, and nation out of pure duty and fidelity. What happened? In one generation, we have allowed clever ideologies appealing to our self-love to move us from faithfulness to marriage, family, nation, and the Bible! Our country prospered like no nation in the history of the world because of this firm foundation – and our enemies were smart enough to know it, as they had infiltrated every major institution, including the church.

Instead of denying ourselves, we exalt ourselves. Scripture predicted this would happen one day just before the end (2 Timothy 3) – that self-love would be the norm and the Word of God would be replaced with clever psychological and social theories.

Even our childhood comic book hero's archenemies are no longer "evil." They are just psychologically traumatized victims of circumstance whom the holders of the norm oppress. But lost in this confusion, we are moved from the one thing that can save us – confessing our sins to God and seeking His forgiveness! Whether abortion, adultery, dishonesty, perversion, thievery, or any other sin, God has provided more than just forgiveness but restoration through a changed heart.

Instead of listening to me or anyone else debate whether the Bible has merit, why not pick up the Bible for yourself? Seeking God should not be passive but active! He has been speaking, but are you listening?
